THE LINE UP

Rhett Miller, CF Concert SeriesTexas native Rhett Miller is perhaps best known as the frontman of the Dallas-based alt-country band Old 97’s. He first hit the music scene in 1989 with his solo album “Mythologies,” which was produced and recorded by future Old 97’s member Murry Hammond. Hammond and Miller went on to form alterna-pop band The Sleepy Heroes with drummer Benjamin Warrenfells in 1990, releasing one album titled “Under a Radio Sun.”

In addition to recording seven studio albums and one live album with the Old 97’s, Miller has also enjoyed success in his solo career. His 2002 album “The Instigator” received critical acclaim and substantial airplay on alternative radio stations. In 2006 Miller released “The Believer,” his first effort for the Verve Forecast label. His most recent album, “Rhett Miller,” was released in June 2009 and deemed to be Miller’s “strongest solo set ever” by Rolling Stone.

Rhett Miller has been a staple of the CF Concert Series since the beginning and continues to be a great contributor to the cause to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. websitemyspacetwitter

Sarah Jaffe, CF Concert SeriesTexas native Sarah Jaffe joins the CF Concert Series for the first time. Jaffe garnered early recognition from Rolling Stone with her first EP, the 2008 self-released “Even Born Again”. After signing to Kirtland Records in 2009, Jaffe released Suburban Nature in May 2010, earning a spot on Paste Magazine’s Top 50 Albums of 2010. She also made her way up to #3 on Paste’s Top 10 Solo Artists of 2010, and has fistfuls of local wins and nominations from the Dallas Observer.

“…she crafts beautiful, raw songs that’are what they are’ in the very best way. Playing like wise, witty diary entries marked with teardrops, growing pains and effusive honesty, her debut album, Suburban Nature, ebbs and flows on a sea of candid relationship narratives.” -Paste Magazine. websitemyspacetwitter
